I was lucky to attend this year’s National Music Camp with the Australian Youth Orchestra as one of three participants in the Sound Production program under the tutelage of Jakub Gaudasinski. The program focused predominantly on live mixing, and we recorded and mixed each of the four orchestral concerts in the Summer Music Festival series, as well as many other chamber concerts.
After a year-long mentorship directed by inspiring Brisbane-based ensemble Topology, the final showcase, Rising Sounds, will be presented at the Ron Hurley Theatre on December 2. The concert will feature six vibrant new works, including my work Crystallise inspired by a recent project in the field of inorganic chemistry.
I am conducting an upcoming performance with UQ’s Sketch Ensemble, featuring a screening of A Deer of Nine Colours with an original score composed by Shenshen Guan. The concert will also feature excerpts of the score composed by the ensemble earlier in the year for Joan of Arc.
